Roller Blinds in Edinburgh
Our most popular product. Made to measure in our Leith workshop, fitted by our team, and guaranteed for 3 years. Available in blackout, thermal, moisture-resistant, and hundreds of colours and patterns.
Why Roller Blinds Are Edinburgh's Most Popular Choice
Roller blinds are the most versatile and affordable window covering we offer. They work in every room, suit every style, and are available in more fabrics and finishes than any other blind type. That is why they are by far our most requested product.
A roller blind is a single piece of fabric that rolls neatly around a top-mounted cassette. When lowered, it sits flat against the window. When raised, it rolls away almost invisibly. Simple, clean, and effective.
We manufacture every roller blind in our Leith workshop using fabrics from Louvolite, one of the UK's leading blind fabric suppliers. That means you get a huge choice of colours, patterns, and functional fabrics, all made to your exact window measurements.
Roller Blind Options for Every Room
Every fabric is available in made-to-measure sizes. We bring samples to your home so you can see and feel the materials before deciding.
Blackout Roller Blinds
Complete light blocking for bedrooms, nurseries, and media rooms. The backing is bonded directly to the fabric, so no light leaks through the material itself. Our most popular option. Available in dozens of colours from muted neutrals to bold statement shades.
Thermal Roller Blinds
A reflective aluminium backing that helps keep heat in during winter and bounces solar heat away in summer. Particularly effective on older Edinburgh tenements and Victorian properties with single-glazed or original sash windows where heat loss through the glass is significant.
Moisture-Resistant
PVC-coated fabrics designed specifically for kitchens and bathrooms. They resist condensation, will not absorb steam or cooking grease, and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Will not warp, stain, or develop mould even in the most humid rooms.
Printed and Patterned
Bold patterns, subtle textures, and statement prints that turn your windows into a design feature. Choose from geometric patterns, florals, abstract designs, botanical prints, and children's themed designs. The print is applied to the front face while the reverse stays neutral for a clean look from outside.
Translucent and Voile
Softly filters natural light while maintaining daytime privacy. You can still see shapes and movement outside but passers-by cannot see in. Perfect for living rooms and ground-floor kitchens where you want light without full exposure. Often paired with blackout blinds on a dual bracket for day and night control.
Fire-Retardant
Meets BS 5867 UK fire safety standards. Required for commercial properties, schools, care homes, and HMO rental accommodations. Available in the full colour range so compliance does not mean compromising on appearance.

Choosing Roller Blinds for Every Room
The right roller blind depends on the room. Here is what we recommend based on thousands of installations across Edinburgh homes.
Bedrooms
Blackout roller blinds are the clear winner here. They block 100% of external light, which makes a real difference in Edinburgh where summer daylight starts before 5am. Choose a cassette-mounted system for a cleaner look and better light seal at the edges. For children's rooms, we recommend cordless or motorised options for safety.
Kitchens
Moisture-resistant fabrics are essential. Standard fabrics absorb cooking grease and steam over time, leading to discolouration. Our PVC-coated kitchen roller blinds wipe clean in seconds. Lighter colours keep the space feeling open, and translucent options let in natural light while blocking the view from outside.
Bathrooms
Similar to kitchens, moisture resistance is key. Bathrooms generate more condensation than any other room, so standard fabrics will develop mould. Our bathroom roller blinds use the same wipe-clean PVC fabrics. If privacy is the main concern, choose an opaque fabric rather than translucent.
Living Rooms
This is where personal style matters most. Printed and patterned roller blinds make a statement, while neutral translucent fabrics let the room do the talking. Many customers pair a roller blind with made-to-measure curtains for a layered look that handles both light control and aesthetics.
Bay Windows
Edinburgh is full of beautiful bay windows, from Victorian tenements to Georgian townhouses. We fit individual roller blinds into each section of the bay, measured precisely to sit flush within the recess. This gives a cleaner finish than a single blind spanning the whole bay and allows independent control of each section.
Offices and Commercial
For commercial spaces, we recommend fire-retardant roller blinds that meet BS 5867 standards. Motorised options work well for hard-to-reach windows or large office installs. We handle multi-window commercial projects efficiently, often completing full-floor installations in a single day.
What Affects the Cost of Roller Blinds?
We do not publish fixed prices because every roller blind is made to your exact window measurements. A small bathroom window and a large bay window are very different jobs. But we can tell you what drives the price so there are no surprises.
The main factors are window size (wider and taller blinds use more fabric and a longer mechanism), fabric type (blackout and thermal fabrics cost more than standard translucent), and any extras like cassette housings or motorisation. The fitting itself is always included in the price at no extra charge.
Roller blinds are consistently our most affordable blind type. They use less fabric than roman blinds and have a simpler mechanism than venetian blinds, which keeps the price down without compromising on quality or appearance.
